Care for people with resistance – manga review.

Care for people with resistance - manga review.

What happens when a monster finds a man and decides to... stop him? The answer to this question is found inside the single-volume care unit for people who are resistant. But it is not just another fantasy manga, but a kind of mirror reception of our own behavior towards animals. The idea itself raises a lot of curiosity, because instead of the classic story we get a perverse guide to care for the essence that should be "at the top of the chain".

A story summary.

Manga moves us to a world inhabited by monsters and magical beasts, where people appear extremely rarely. The main character, a sympathetic orange creature resembling a Halloween pumpkin, finds an unconscious man and decides to take him in. From this point on, the science of mutual understanding begins, where the monster tries to provide its "pupil" with the best possible conditions, eating specialized guides.

When I first heard the title Care for Resistant PeopleI thought it would be a simple comedy based on one, somewhat used food. How nice to be disappointed. What the author has prepared is an absolute masterpiece of perspective that hits the tender strings of anyone who has ever looked after a dog, a cat or even a hamster. Although humor and charming aesthetics are the first, there is something much deeper and slightly more melancholy underneath.

The script.

The greatest force of this story is to change perspective. It's not a man who's the center of the world, it's what we would normally call a "monster." And it is from his point of view that we see an attempt to understand a being so fragile, unpredictable and completely different. This procedure works surprisingly well because it allows you to look at the familiar patterns of animal care from a completely different side. Suddenly, simple activities like feeding, health care, and relationship building take on new meaning.

The motive for responsibility is strong. Manga He does not say it directly, but very clearly shows that the "holding" of another being always involves consequences. This procedure makes history stay in your head longer than you would expect from such a light title.

The humor also plays a big role, but it is not pushy. Rather, it is due to misunderstandings and differences of perception between species. Monsters try to be "good guardians", but their understanding of the world of people is often completely unsuccessful. This leads to scenes that they entertain, but at the same time they have something slightly melancholic in them. Especially when we start to notice that communication between them will never be perfect.

A very interesting element are fragments styled as a guide to human care. It's kind of a manual for a living being, written from a different species' perspective. These inserts are fun and disturbing at the same time, because they show how easily you can normalize something that in the human world would be absolutely unacceptable.

The emotional layer develops slowly. At first we have distance and curiosity, then there is attachment, and with it a subtle sense of loss and time difference between heroes. It is this motive of time and passing that makes the most impression. The relationship, which seems simple, begins to be something much more fragile.

However, this is not a title without defects. At times, history seems a little stretched, and some scenes repeat a similar pattern. For some manga customers Care for Resistant PeopleIt may also be too epidural. Theoretically, the following chapters merge, but there is nothing to expect from this title any truly deep plot.

Drawings.

PLUSY: MINIUS:

  • Oryginalny, przewrotny pomysł na świat.
  • Ciekawa zmiana perspektywy.
  • Przystępny humor dla każdego.
  • Kolorowa i przyjemna oprawa graficzna.

  • Momentami powtarzalna struktura epizodów.
  • Brak mocniejszych zwrotów akcji.

ASSESSMENT: 8/10
For who?
